Door-to-door sales has a reputation — some of it earned, some of it outdated. If you're deciding whether it's a good job for you, here's an honest breakdown.
The upside
Uncapped income. Most jobs pay you the same whether you coast or grind. Commission sales pays you for results — at Olympus, $250 per fiber sale, weekly, with no ceiling. Real skills. You learn to talk to anyone, handle rejection, and close — skills that pay for the rest of your life. Fast promotion. Advancement is based on numbers, not tenure or politics.
The honest downside
It's hard. You'll hear "no" far more than "yes," you're outside in Florida weather, and your income depends on your effort every single day. If you want a guaranteed paycheck for showing up, this isn't it.
Who it's a good job for
Competitive people who are coachable, self-driven, and want their income tied to their work. No degree or experience required — the best reps often come in with none. If you're hungry and willing to learn, door-to-door is one of the few jobs where a 20-year-old can out-earn people twice their age.
How to try it
The only way to know if it's for you is to do it. Apply in two minutes and we'll call you back within 24 hours.
